The new Dyson Supersonic r™ Professional hair dryer backstage at Paris Fashion week.
This season, Dyson Hair Professional collaborates with renowned hairstylist Eugene Souleiman for the Stella McCartney AW24 collection. The collection, showcased at Parc André Citroën, pays tribute to Mother Nature and represents the very essence of the Stella woman - one who is committed to and works for the planet.
For the show, Eugene Souleiman and his team of hairdressers used Dyson tools, in particular the new Supersonic r™ Professional hair dryer, Dysons latest innovation designed by engineers for professionals.
“I was initially surprised by this new hair dryer, but it is amazing. Especially the flyaway smoother, which perfects everything.”

“We wanted to push technology to its peak. We have created a new shape for a hair dryer and a new, more efficient heating system. The intelligent attachments, which remember the last used settings save valuable time for professionals. They seem to appreciate it because all you need to do is attach the desired attachment and everything is adjusted automatically thanks to the RFID sensors.”
“The hair dryer is very quiet and very light, it’s very precise as well – it doesn’t disturb the hair while you’re drying it and because you don’t overheat the hair, you get a nice silky, healthy look.”

“For this season, it was about creating realistic hairstyles that we can relate to. I wanted to elevate and polish the models’ own natural hair. I always determine the looks based on the casting because each model is totally individual. Today we created low, smooth ponytails and loose hair with slight waves or, on the contrary, very straight hair depending on the model’s hair texture. The idea was to create a sharp, sophisticated, naturally glamourous hairstyle that has a graphic quality to it without feeling too ‘done’.”

How to get the Sophisticated Low Ponytail, by Eugene Souleiman
1. Wet hair with a water spray then dry with the Dyson Supersonic r™ Professional hair dryer to create volume.
2. Next, use the Pro Concentrator attachment to smooth all of the hair and achieve more shine. Perfect the top of the head using the Flyaway attachment to flatten and smooth any small flyaway hairs.
3. Using a comb, bring all of the hair back and then gather it into a low ponytail. Secure using an elastic band. If necessary, apply a light hairspray to fix everything in place.

Key Technology

The Dyson Supersonic r™ Professional hair dryer is Dyson’s lightest, smallest, and most precise styling tool enabled by power-dense technologies – a new technology streamlined heater, the Dyson Hyperdymium™ motor and intelligent Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) sensors in each attachment which communicate with the hair dryer, automatically adjusting the motor and heater to deliver optimal airflow and temperature.
Dyson engineers were tasked to create the smallest hair dryer with powerful precision. This meant doubling down on the core technology within the Dyson Supersonic™ Professional hair dryer – particularly heater technology, motor performance, and attachments – re-engineering a machine to deliver precision for professionals in an entirely new form factor. The Dyson Supersonic r™ professional hair dryer is 30% smaller1, 20% lighter2, and more manoeuvrable - delivering fast drying, smoother, frizz free and shinier results.
Leading Session stylists will use the Dyson Supersonic r™ Professional hair dryer backstage to style hair across New York, London, Milan, and Paris fashion week for the Autumn/Winter season.
